Management Consultant

The Management Consultant will play a critical role in supporting NVD Fresh Produce Pty Ltd through its expansion and operational consolidation phase.

This position is responsible for analysing current operations, identifying strategic growth opportunities, improving production efficiency across greenhouse operations, and implementing systems to enhance financial performance and long-term sustainability.

The Management Consultant will work closely with the senior staff to develop structured business strategies that support land expansion, crop diversification, risk management, and supply chain optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Expansion

Conduct a comprehensive review of current operations across both greenhouse sites.

Develop a structured expansion strategy for the current and future farms.

Identify growth opportunities within Western Australia’s fresh produce market.

Provide strategic advice on diversification to balance profitability and market demand.

Develop medium and long-term plans aligned with sustainable agriculture principles.

Operational Efficiency and Production Optimisation

 

Assess production systems to identify improvements in yield, quality, and cost efficiency.

Review frameworks to ensure optimal management and long-term productivity.

Assess and recommend improvements in irrigation systems, greenhouse infrastructure, and workflow processes.

Introduce performance monitoring systems to track productivity, wastage, and labour efficiency.

Support the implementation of scalable systems suitable for future land development.

Financial Analysis and Performance Improvement

Conduct financial assessments of current cost structures and production outputs.

Develop budgeting and forecasting models to support expansion decisions.

Provide recommendations to improve margins, cost control, and return on investment.

Analyse capital investment requirements for greenhouse expansion and infrastructure development.

Identify potential grants, agricultural funding programs, or regional development incentives.

Supply Chain and Market Development

Review and optimise supply chain processes to ensure consistent and timely product distribution.

Assess current buyer arrangements and identify new distribution channels where viable.

Develop risk mitigation strategies to address market volatility, seasonal changes, and pricing fluctuations.

Support brand positioning and market competitiveness within the WA horticulture sector.

Compliance and Risk Management

 

Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural, environmental, and workplace regulations.

Assess biosecurity, food safety, and environmental risks associated with expansion.

Develop risk management frameworks to support sustainable scaling of operations.

Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with the Director and the General Manager to align operational improvements with business objectives.

Liaise with agronomists, suppliers, contractors, and industry bodies as required.

Provide structured reporting and performance updates to management.

 

Assessment Criteria – Qualification, Work Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area or at least 3 years of work experience.
  • Proven experience in management consulting or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production and financial data.
  • Demonstrated experience in business expansion and operational improvement.
  • Sound understanding of supply chain management and financial performance analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
